Azerbaijan's IDDA takes AI-scoring startups and digital government to ITCN Asia 2026
Azerbaijan's Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA) presented mygov, AI- and machine-learning-based scoring tools and its Technopark ecosystem at the 28th ITCN Asia exhibition in Karachi, held 22-24 September 2026, IDDA said.
A delegation from Azerbaijan's Innovation and Digital Development Agency (İnnovasiya və Rəqəmsal İnkişaf Agentliyi, IDDA) and companies resident at its Technopark presented the country's digital-government platforms and AI-based startups at the 28th "ITCN Asia 2026" exhibition in Karachi, Pakistan, IDDA said in a statement dated 24 September 2026. The event ran from 22 to 24 September at the Karachi Expo Centre, according to IDDA.
What Azerbaijan presented
- Azerbaijan's National Pavilion showcased "SİMA İmza," "mygov," "mygov ID," "digital.bridge" and RSD, as well as the country's Technopark ecosystem and the workforce-development model of the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center, IDDA said.
- Technopark resident companies "showcased AI- and machine learning-based scoring, microfinance, fintech, systems integration, software, corporate IT infrastructure, database management, 'Big Data' analytics, and data management services," according to IDDA.
- The Azerbaijani delegation met representatives of Pakistani government bodies responsible for digital transformation, regional IT associations, international investors, telecom operators, banks, and cybersecurity and software companies, with talks covering "ICT exports" and "potential areas of cooperation," IDDA said.
- Azerbaijan was one of the international pavilions at the exhibition, alongside China, South Korea, Australia, Türkiye, Egypt, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the Pakistani daily The Daily Independent reported. More than 350 international delegates took part overall, according to the newspaper.
Why it matters
IDDA described the trip's purpose as expanding "technological cooperation, investment, and ICT exports" with markets in South and Central Asia and the Middle East — a rare instance of Azerbaijan marketing its Technopark-based AI and fintech products abroad, rather than only presenting government digitisation platforms such as mygov to a domestic audience.
What it means for Azerbaijani companies
The delegation's focus on exporting scoring, fintech and data-analytics tools sits under the first goal of Azerbaijan's Artificial Intelligence Strategy for 2025–2028 — "enhancing the competitiveness of the country's economy" — approved by presidential decree on 19 March 2025. For AI and fintech firms registered with Technopark, the Karachi trip is a concrete, state-organised entry point into the Pakistani and wider South Asian market; IDDA has not announced a specific funding programme, tender or follow-up deal attached to the visit, so it should be read as a market-access signal rather than a committed export contract.
