AzInTelecom presents AI and Supercomputer Center capabilities at ICTWEEK Uzbekistan 2026
AzInTelecom LLC showcased its cloud, biometric and artificial intelligence capabilities, including Azerbaijan's NVIDIA H200-based Supercomputer Center, at ICTWEEK Uzbekistan 2026 in Tashkent on 28 September 2026, APA reported.
AzInTelecom LLC presented its solutions and capabilities in cloud technologies, biometric identification and artificial intelligence at the international ICTWEEK Uzbekistan 2026 event held in Tashkent on 28 September 2026, according to APA (APA.az). Trend.Az independently reported the same appearance the same day.
What the company showed
- Farid Ismayilzada, Advisor to the CEO of AzInTelecom, spoke on a panel titled "The impact of artificial intelligence on cloud infrastructure and cybersecurity", discussing how AI technologies affect modern digital infrastructure and the projects AzInTelecom is running in the area, APA said.
- Ismayilzada highlighted Azerbaijan's first Supercomputer Center; the centre gives local companies, government agencies and innovation entities access to advanced computing resources for AI and other computing-heavy projects, APA said.
- The Centre uses NVIDIA H200 GPU chips to develop AI models, process large volumes of data and run complex computations, both APA and Trend.Az reported.
- Work is under way to further expand the Centre's computing power, APA said.
- AzInTelecom also uses AI to strengthen its biometric identification solutions, Ismayilzada said, according to APA.
- ICTWEEK Uzbekistan has run annually since 2004 as a regional platform for companies, government agencies and experts in information and communication technology, APA noted.
Why it matters
The appearance is a promotional one rather than a new deployment: no contract, client count or investment figure was disclosed by either outlet. Its interest lies in the venue — AzInTelecom used a regional stage to position Azerbaijan's home-grown AI computing infrastructure, built on the Supercomputer Center it operates, as a service it can offer to markets such as Uzbekistan, alongside its cloud and biometric products.
What it means for Azerbaijani institutions: the Supercomputer Center's stated role — giving government agencies and companies access to high-performance computing for AI projects — lines up with the Artificial Intelligence Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2025-2028, which President Ilham Aliyev approved by decree with the stated goal of "improving infrastructure access" and "building a qualified workforce in AI", according to News.az, citing AZERTAC. Azerbaijani companies that need GPU-based computing for AI development now have a documented domestic option to evaluate against cloud providers abroad, though neither APA nor Trend.Az disclosed the Centre's pricing or capacity limits.
